SIZING GUIDE
Each sleeping bag manufacturer has their own design styles and sizing criteria, so please don't assume all sleeping bags are the same size. A lot of Snugpaks sleeping bags have the same dimensions, but their can be slight differences. Our size chart below lists the five measurements that should be used to find the correct fit.
MEASUREMENTS
Length - The total length of the sleeping bag from the tip of the hood to the end of the foot plate.
Max User Height - The recommended maximum height of a person that can be accommodated comfortably in the sleeping bag.
Chest - Measured across the width of the sleeping bag.
Knee - Measured across the width of the sleeping bag.
Foot - Measured across the width of the sleeping bag.
SLEEPING BAG FIT
There are two main shapes to Snugpak sleeping bags, regular and mummy:
Regular - Rectangular in shape with a zip around two sides that allow it to be opened out flat and used as a blanket. This style of sleeping bag is a lot more roomier than a mummy shape sleeping bag but are less effective insulators.
Mummy - A more fitted design as the shape tapers towards the feet, improving heat retention. Can be restrictive for some people who move around a lot when asleep.

Care for your Snugpak sleeping bag is easy, with the option of hand washing or using a washing machine. Comprehensive care instructions are provided on the sewn-in care label, usually found along one of the inner seams.
To preserve the thermal efficiency and structure of the insulation/filling, it's recommended to avoid frequent washing, particularly with a washing machine. Instead, consider gently sponging both inner and outer fabrics with soap and water. Afterward, ensure thorough drying and airing of the sleeping bag before storing it back in its compression sack.
MACHINE WASHING INSTRUCTIONS
For machine washing, follow these guidelines for optimal results:
- Zip up the sleeping bag, making sure any draw-cords are fully inside the machine and not caught in the door before starting the wash.
- Use a cool and gentle setting (never exceeding 30°C/86°F) in a front-loading domestic washing machine, as top loaders with agitators can potentially damage the product.
Avoid liquid detergent and fabric softeners, as they may leave residues on the bag. Instead, opt for a low or fragrance-free powder or Tech Wash for cleaning.
DRYING INSTRUCTIONS
Snugpak recommend line drying your sleeping bag as tumble drying can cause heat damage, even on a low-temperature settings.
REPROOFING
All Snugpak outer fabrics on their sleeping bag ranges are treated with a Durable Water Repellent (DWR). This may periodically need re-treating with a suitable aftercare product.
STORAGE
Avoid storing the sleeping bag compressed for extended periods between uses. While sleeping bags are sometimes rolled at the factory for dispatch, it's not recommended to emulate this without special machinery.

Snugpak Softie 9 Hawk Sleeping Bags versatility makes them ideal for expeditions where you will be subjected to different climatic conditions. It's three season rating is deceptive as it will be suitable for temperatures as low as-10°C, and can easily be turned in to a four season bag by adding a thermal liner.
The Paratex Light inner fabric is woven from 100% Polyamide, producing a highly durable yet super soft wicking and breathable first layer. The improved Softie Premier synthetic insulation produces a finer, softer and more durable finish akin to down, but with the added advantage that once unpacked, the fibres decompress and spring back to gain maximum re-loft, retaining heat even when wet. The Paratex Steelplate outer fabric has not just been selected due to it's tough lightweight characteristics, but also its soft touch and high wicking rate. Designed to be windproof to the industry standard of 3 cubic feet per minute, and with durable water repellent finish (DWR) to the British Standard Spray Rating of 4 (minimum), this outer layer can take a battering from the elements. Both the inner and outer fabrics have no stitch through construction to reduce the risk of cold spots.
Entry to the sleeping bag is via a two way zip located on the left hand side, with a double pull making it easy to unzip the bag from the inside. A 70mm internal insulated baffle runs along the side of the zip to protect against heat loss. For a close fit around the head the hood incorporates an adjustable elasticated draw cord, whilst the reinforced foot plate includes a pair of hanging loops for airing.
When it comes to packing the sleeping bag away after a peaceful nights sleep, the easy fill compression stuff sack produces a compact low volume finish for easy storage.
