Factor 1 Plus Balaclavas have been developed in conjunction with military and emergency service personnel who need extra functionality from their standard cold weather kit.
Manufactured using state of the art digital knitting machines, these lightweight balaclavas are super soft thanks to the 95% polyamide yarn content. For a snug facial fit 5% elastane has been added to the yarn blend making them extra stretchy. Once knitted, these balaclavas are dyed and during that process a hydrophilic treatment is impregnated in to the fabric to provide enhanced moisture management. This also means they dry much faster when washed.
The same body mapping technology we employ on our Factor 1 Plus thermal base layers has been employed in the design of these lightweight balaclavas. An integrated open mesh mouth area makes breathing a lot less laboured compared to traditional balaclavas, with additional mesh zones located around the ears to allow greater sound transfer. For increased thermal efficiency around the neck area, we have introduced a ribbed construction to trap extra heat and also to provide extra support. With this balaclava being partially designed to be worn under helmets, we are aware that bulky seams can lead to pressure points and rubbing. This is why the single central seam is constructed flat.
